How Your Top Rival Is Calculated
Your Top Rival is the club member who runs at the most similar pace to you across the distances you both compete in.
The Basics
- We compare your personal best times at each distance (5K, 10K, Half Marathon, etc.) with other runners
- We only compare you against runners of the same gender
- We look at how close your PB times are across all the distances you have in common
What Makes a Good Rival Match
- Someone whose best times are very close to yours across multiple distances
- Someone who races regularly (not just a handful of races)
- The more distances you share, the stronger the rivalry
Minimum Requirements
- Your rival must have raced enough to make a fair comparison
- If you've run 100 races, we won't match you with someone who's only run 4
- You need to share at least 2 common race distances
The Wins & Losses
- A "Win" means your PB is faster than theirs at that distance
- A "Loss" means their PB is faster than yours
- This shows how evenly matched you are
Important Notes
- Your rival doesn't need to have raced against you directly
- We're comparing your best-ever times, not specific race results
- Filtering by year or race type will show your top rival for just those races
