Monday Night for Beginners & Improvers (Meet at Rivets at 7:00pm - approx 1 hour)

Aimed at men & women aged 15+. Complete beginners to improvers with the aim of progressing to Tuesday nights sessions.
These runs are aimed at weight loss, fitness, social, and for those who always fancied running but 'never got round to it'. You are welcome to try running with us before joining the club.

Red Team = approx 3 miles, run/walk
Yellow Team = approx 3-5 miles, slow run, plenty of regrouping.
Green Team = approx 4-6 miles, a little faster than Yellow Team, plenty of regrouping.
Alternating each week between running and efforts, ie hill/speed/fitness training.

Tuesday Road Runs - Efforts Night (Meet at Rivets at 7:00pm - approx 1 hour)

Although efforts are designed to be hard work nobody is expected to do any more than their level of fitness or ability allows.
We have two groups - Group A led by Monika, the ladies captain and Group B led by John the mens captain.
The less competitive or beginner will train with Group A whilst the more advanced that prefer the extra volume and intensity of training go with Group B. You will get far more out of your work-out if you train with the correct group for your ability!
Efforts should be enjoyable for everyone, which is proven by the fact that Tuesday is always our best-attended Club Night.

GROUP B (Advanced)

 

10th April - Tail-end-Charlies Bedgrove Park - all levels. 

17th April - Churchill Ave - up to the second bollard. 10 reps. All levels.

24th April - Swan dodging.  Efforts along the canal. Intermediate.

1st May - Alfred Rose and fall hill efforts at Alfred Rose Park. Hill effort with recovery, all on path.  Intermediate

8th May - Canal run, second attempt - it HAS to have stopped raining by then!  Efforts along the canal, beginning at the basin opposite the blue leanie.

15th May - Terrick efforts.  Approx 6.5m run with integrated efforts.  Intermediate.

22nd May - Castle Street hill efforts.

29th May -  THE SUMMER OFF ROAD RUNS ARE BACK!  THE LAST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH ARE NOW OFF ROAD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  The first one will meet at Wendover library car park at 7pm (car share if you can, parking isn't great) and will be led by Penny.  This first run will be approx 4.5m just to ease us in gently!

5th June - Efforts on the field at the bottom of Churchill Avenue. (40 second effort, 40 second recovery.  30 mins).

12th June - Lynn's 3 Peaks Challenge.  Hill efforts.

19th June - Lena's special summer run:  Egyptian Springs.  (approx 6 miles with efforts and hill efforts around Fairford Leys, Hartwell House.  It's got it all, this one!)

26th June - Off Road Run - meet at Mansion Hill in Halton at 7pm.

3rd July - Reversal run

10th July - Whitehill

17th July - third time lucky: we WILL run on that darn canal!

24th July - Tail-end-Charlies @ Bedgrove Park

31st July - Off road run, meet Mansion Hill @7pm. 

7th August - Alfred Rose Park hill efforts

14th August - Lampost efforts tring Road

21st August - Let's squeeze another Terrick efforts session in!

28th August - Off road run - meeting point TBC

Wednesday Runs - Choice of Off road or On road

OFF ROAD RUNS

Wednesday April 4th and Wednesday April 11th runs will be from Wendover library car park starting at 6-30pm as they have been throughout the Winter. However it is now light enough not to need a tourch.

Wednesday runs during the Summer, starting with the 18th April will start at 7-00pm and be about 10km long. We will start from one of five venues in the order below. 

April 18th - Kimble lay-by - take A4010 Princes Risborough road from Stoke Mandeville. Lay-by is on the left after passing through Great Kimble.

April 25th - Library car park Wendover - on left of Wendover High Street immeadiately after Red Lion Hotel.

May 2nd - Mansion Hill - take B4009 Halton road from Wendover. Half mile beyond Halton (aeroplane) there is a cross road with Mansion Hill on right. Please share a lift as parking here is limited.

May 9th - Whiteleaf Cross car park - take A4010 Princes Risborough road from Stoke Mandeville. When reach Monks Risborough there is a school on left with a left turm immeadiately after. Take this road up steep hill. Car park is at top on left.

May 18th - There will be no Bearbrook run tonight as I have just been informed that this is Tring Running Club's open evening. This is an excellent evening with guided off road runs from easy to fast followed by a buffet. Many Bearbrook members atttend along with runners from other clubs. Please let Monica know if you plan to go along as they need to have some idea of the numbers.

 May 23rd - Coombe Hill car park - take the Butlers Cross road from Terrick roundabout and at Russel Arms go ahead up hill.  After one mile at top of hill turn left and after three quarters of a mile when road bends right car park is ahead.

This cycle will then repeat in the same order.

ON ROAD RUNS

Following club tradition, from May 2nd we will be joining the Off Road running Group for Wednesday night runs in the Chiltern Hills. See details above.

Friday Road Runs (Meet at Rivets at 7:00pm - approx 1 hour)

Various routes and distances but all starting and finishing at the Club.
There's always enough time to get back showered and changed and into the Bar!

Sunday Morning

Starting at 9:30am. Off-road easy running with regular regrouping. (1.5 - 2 hours - approx 8-10m)

Sunday 6th May - Meet at Wendover library car park. Nikki will lead this run. If you have any questions her mobile is 07739 037409.

Sunday 13th May  - Meet at Ridgeway crosing of Ivinghoe to Aldbury road. Take B488 from tring exit of bypass towards Ivinghoe. One mile from Ivinghoe road turns sharp left with road to Aldbury on right. Turn right and at top of hill car park is on right where Ridgeway crosses road. 

Sunday 20th May Weston Turville reservoir lay-by. On left of Weston Turville to Wendover road.

Sunday 27th May - Waddesdon. Jackie Rolt is organising a charity training run of about 10 miles in celebration of her 50th birthday. Parking is at the school HP18 0LQ and will take in Ashenden, Eythrop, Waddesden Manor and places in between. She would like a £10 contribution to Brest Cancer Care. Food, refreshments, stalls and showers are available.

Sunday 3rd June - Braddenhan - Take A4010 road towards High Wycombe and turn left at Red Lion pub in to village. Before village green turn right on to track and follow round green to park at top near wall to manor.

 RUNS AS FOLLOWS:

RED TEAM:  Beginners -  approx 3 miles.   Very slow relaxed pace, run/walk, plenty of regrouping. (pace= 11min mile or slower)

YELLOW TEAM: Improvers -  approx 3-5 miles. A little faster, less walking, still plenty of regrouping. (pace=10min mile or slower)

GREEN TEAM:  Advanced beginners -  4-6 miles (pace= approx 9 min mile or slower.

ORANGE TEAM: AS OF 21ST MAY, NEW 8 WEEK PROGRAMME BEGINS IT'S FIRST 8 WEEK CYCLE PROGRESSING TO YELLOW GROUP
